TCD Diatribe to clear up common questions,
and to just provide relevant information to those
burning questions you always wanted to ask, did ask
and that's ok because there is no such thing as
a stupid question... until there actual is...
so don't be THAT guy or girl. heh heh (Do
not read into anything here. It is just open
joking of the air or ether, itself.) TCD
supports true knowledge learning in all its forms,
100%, always, without question.
What is the difference between BobDule, TCD,
R2R? Which KONTAKT version should I get?
Ok, this is not so complicated as you already think.
Condensed to most basic info: R2R, based on
history, patterns and perceived mentality -
meaning they are perceived this way, and
TCD is not talking for them or trying to...
keeps their releases focused to authentic as
possible. In this case, it means all sorts
of features like library abilities, this,
that and the other thing are impossible
or may prove difficult, time-consuming
or whatever whatever for the average scene
user doing what a scene user would want to
do, i.e. use 3rd party libraries, abuse 3rd
party libraries. There are no known stability
issues across the board for all of Kontakt,
every release in recent history - all
groups.
The TCD and BobDule versions are essentially
identical, other than minor cosmetic differences
such as the About screen and stuff. Bob and TCD
worked very closely on Kontakt 8 at initial launch,
and basically not to steal credit or anything like that
but to tell the truth: BobDule patching is mostly
based on TCD framework set out in those times...
and minor-but-necessary tweaks to match changes
over time...
and we stay closely aligned. One release is practically
always identical to another... regardless of which
is release in which order.
Both the BD and TCD version employ special
maneuvers to bring editing the truly extra locked
libraries, nerd scripting stuff, like in Evolution
Breakout Devastator Pro.
BobDule and TCD only difference whatsoever is that
each uses a different registry key (both self-made
by each) to bring the Kontakt Button. This is simply
because of BD maintenance routine discipline, internal to BD,
and nothing else. TCD maneuver was changed after the fact,
to support the above condition.
All that being said, it is believed but not truly known,
just because because kind of thing, that r4e had a
great hand in Kontakt 7 framework and overall
staibility/functionality - which went a very, very
long way to allowing TCD to do TCD thing to bring the 8.
There are major differences version to version, to say the least.
But there are also strong similarities, too.
Hope this clears things up mostly. All that being
said again, BobDule has been invaluable. As TCD told
direct in the past, BD is well-appreciated for being
the opposite of a dumb-dumb. (Easiest way to say.)
Rock on!
P.S. Big shout and respect to all groups as
the universe's natural order says "should," and
TCD sees what you did there, Tracer.
